MembershipUKSEDS members see space not as science-fiction but as a new frontier to explore and develop for the benefit of humankind. To this end, UKSEDS and its branches incorporate into all membership activities the commitment to making space more a part of our lives. Members participate in lectures, meetings and events. Participation in UKSEDS events helps improve leadership skills, enhances career interests and develops organisational abilities. Becoming a member of UKSEDS will not only give you the opportunity to meet like-minded people at our conferences, lectures and social events, but you will also meet many people who are actually in the Space-related industries. This is because the members of UKSEDS come from many different backgrounds. There are undergraduates, graduates, college and school students, and even individual Members of Parliament, the House of Lords, and parliamentary advisors. Perhaps more importantly, we have many professionals from industry who provide us with a strong foundation of contacts. These people can supply us with financial support, careers information, and help us achieve the goals that the society has laid down. By building up such a network of friends and contacts, you will find yourself more in touch with the exciting world of Space Exploration and Development. Being a member of UKSEDS is also about reaching out to a wider audience, and getting more people excited about Space and understanding the importance of such exploration and development. As a member of UKSEDS you will be invited to participate in such events as the running of workshops, and as a professional member you could be invited to present at lectures. UKSEDS has two types of membership:
