Project Interface is an outreach project designed to increase awareness of KS4 students about what studying and working with Physics and Space Science entails. This will involve volunteer Physics undergraduates enthusing students by making presentations in around 70 secondary schools across Leicestershire. These presentations aim to challenge perceptions about Physics and Space Science, to provide role models, and to inform students about the lives of Physics undergraduates and professionals as well as how they might get involved in Physics and Space activities. The purpose of the project is to act as an interface between the students and the world of Physics and Space Science in general.

LeSEDS have applied for a grant, and are currently preparing to begin work on the presentation. For details, please e-mail projectinterface@leseds.com.

Plans to Host the UKSEDS Conference 2006

After our successful trip to the UKSEDS conference we've decided to become a little bit ambitious. We are currently planning an application to organise and host next years conference. This of course requires a bit more person power than the committee has at present so we wanted to members if they would be willing to take on the job to help organise next years conference.

All the plans are in the initial stages and we can't officially propose to host the conference until next year, but we wanted to gauge the interest so that we know exactly what we would be capable of. Therefore if members are willing to give up time in support of this national event please reply e-mail conference@leseds.com stating so. At a later date we will then e-mail all interested and organise the next step.
